Over the past months, we’ve had many conversations with laboratories, partners, and innovators working with GC-MS data. These discussions — especially around daily analytical challenges and the role AI can realistically play — continue to shape how we develop METIS, our AI-powered platform for GC-MS data interpretation.
After an eventful first half of 2025, our focus remains clear: making analytical workflows faster, clearer, and more insightful.
What’s New in METIS: Product Highlights
Improved Visualization and Data Navigation
METIS now offers a smoother and more intuitive way to explore GC-MS data. Recent updates include improved chart performance, faster scrolling, and enhanced chromatogram navigation.
Reference spectra and sample spectra can now be displayed directly on top of each other, making visual comparison easier and more immediate.
Why this matters:
Analysts can evaluate peaks more quickly, navigate complex chromatograms seamlessly, and gain clearer insights at a glance.
Enhanced Result Handling and Filtering
Result exploration in METIS has been further optimized. Additional structure candidates now load automatically while scrolling through peak results. A new filter allows users to focus on specific result sources — whether they originate from METIS AI, internal databases, or virtual reference libraries.
Why this matters:
Relevant results are easier to find, and AI-generated structure proposals can be compared directly with known or in-house references.
Preview: The New Database Tab
A redesigned database tab introduces a clearer structure for navigating virtual and internal spectral libraries. The new layout provides more control over how spectra are viewed, filtered, and interpreted.

Why this matters:
Switching between datasets becomes more efficient, helping users focus on what is most relevant for their analysis.
Community and Company Updates

ChemInnovation Joins the Ignition Batch 2025
ChemInnovation is now part of the Ignition Batch 2025 in Düsseldorf, a startup accelerator supporting founders with coaching, networking, and funding readiness.
Participation in the Ignition program helps us scale more effectively and strengthen the connection between deep tech, artificial intelligence, and analytical chemistry.
More information about the program is available at: ignitiondus.de/startups/cheminnovation
NewOffice in Cologne
After starting out in Münster, ChemInnovation has moved its headquarters to Cologne.
In August, we moved into a new office in the Rhineland, followed by a full-team retreat in September focused on collaboration, strategy, and product development.
While ChemInnovation remains a remote-first company, the new office serves as a shared base for in-person collaboration and innovation.
Looking Ahead: Analytica 2026
We are already preparing for Analytica 2026, taking place from March 24–27, 2026, in Munich.
Visitors can expect major updates, new features, and fresh perspectives on how AI continues to transform GC-MS analytics.
Try METIS: Extended Winter Demo Period
The next METIS demo phase runs from December 1, 2025, to January 15, 2026.
This extended six-week period allows ample time to explore the platform — even across the holiday season.
What the Demo Includes
Participants receive guided onboarding and a final evaluation session. Accounts remain accessible for up to 2.5 months, allowing continued review of results after the demo phase.
If you are interested in joining the upcoming demo period, feel free to reserve your place early.
AI-Powered GC-MS Analysis: Moving Forward
ChemInnovation is built on curiosity, collaboration, and chemistry.
We look forward to continuing this journey and sharing further updates as METIS evolves.
